Prior to joining the Company in 2005, Dr. Lough served for eight years in a variety of scientific and management positions with the genomics company Sequenom, Inc., including Manager of East Coast Operations. He previously served as a technology analyst with the translational drug development company Acretia, Inc., and as a principal scientist with the chemical genomics company NeoGenesis Pharmaceuticals, Inc (now Schering-Plough).
Dr. Lough earned his B.Sc. (with honors) in Environmental Chemistry, his Ph.D. in Oligonucleotide Chemistry in 1996 from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, and earned a Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property from Northeastern University in 2004. Dr. Lough holds seven issued U.S. Patents in the field of nucleic acids technology.
